Jeff! I've known Jeff Denmeade since I was a baby, he and my dad raced together. So crazy and shocking to see him in this, but I'm not surprised

That's incredible; I can't imagine how crazy that would be to see someone you know! Awesome about your dad racing with him, he seems like a really cool person. Sorry I didn't have the video up at that moment.

It's definitely very strange.
The two of them plus Peter McKay (who I can't remember meeting-I was too little) did the One Lap of America in 1999, in a Mitsubishi Evo IV, turned into a rally car by RalliArt in Australia, then shipped over. They ended up coming in first in class, fifth overall, losing to only a Mosler Raptor, Lamborghini Diablo, Superformance Cobra, and something else. Not too bad, considering apparently there were a few hired drivers.
Unfortunately, my dad hasn't told me any awesome stories. All I've heard is the one of them rotating to get their sleep, making a bed in the backseat in which you had to slide yourself in and bend yourself around the cage and pray you didn't crash.
I freaked out when I saw him though. Thanks for posting, might have missed it otherwise

I'm amazed they let the Miata out on the track with out a roll bar. Now I need to go and watch them turbo this thing. I know it can be done on a budget but it takes the knowledge to piece together a kit and then be able to find the parts. Most of the off the shelf solutions are ~$3,500 which can get you around 200-225 ponies at the wheels. The one thing I would disagree on with his suggestions is to just add wider rubber in the rear, that would upset the balance of a miata if you were to run a staggered wheel set up. I think they are also neglecting the fact that you can gain a whole lot just by changing the alignment on these gems.
I also wonder how close they came to poping that headgasket. . . Stupid nonlinear coolant temperature gauge. . .
